Welcome to my website! I've posted some of my fiction, essays, reviews, newspaper articles, and poetry for you to read. My debut novel, Osaka Heat, is now available for purchase at online, chain, and neighborhood bookstores. Click here to order, or visit my Books page.
To give book groups across the country access to personal, two-way discussions about the inspiration for my book, the twists and turns the story took as I wrote it and revised it, and my experiences publishing the book, I’m happy to speak with your group about Osaka Heat and to take your questions by speaker phone for a session up to 60 minutes long. To schedule a phone discussion with your book group, send an e-mail via the Contact Me form on this website with your suggested date and time, along with a contact name and a phone number. Please include "Book Group" in the Subject line. I’m also happy to honor requests for local, in-person speaking opportunities. I look forward to hearing from you.
Visit my Events & Appearances page for a list of my book signings and other appearances. I'm happy to report that Osaka Heat has taken the Silver Medal for the category of "Multicultural Fiction Adult" in the Independent Publisher Book Awards contest. This award annually recognizes the best independently published books. Have a look at Category 13.
I'm also pleased to tell you that ForeWord Magazine recognized Osaka Heat as a Finalist for the 2007 Book of the Year Award, in Literary Fiction. This award was established to bring increased attention, to librarians and booksellers, of the literary and graphic achievements of independent publishers and their authors. Find more information here. The Next Generation Indie Book Awards has also recognizied Osaka Heat as a Finalist in the Multicultural Fiction category.
